Ascenda Preparatory Academy is a transition-focused, person-centered learning community designed for students with intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities. WHY WE BUILT ASCENDA PREPARATORY ACADEMY
In many educational systems, students with complex learning and developmental needs are often expected to adapt to structures that were not designed with them in mind, leaving families in the position of speaking on behalf of their children and facing uncertainty about what comes after the school years. Ascenda Preparatory Academy was created to address this gap with intention, focusing on building communication, independence, and self-advocacy so that students can actively participate in their own lives. By integrating education, therapy, and real-world experiences, Ascenda serves as a bridge between school and adulthood, helping students transition with confidence, preparation, and meaningful direction.
